TranZit Isn't That Bad Of A Map And It Was A Super Important To The Development Of Modern Zombies

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 07:22 AM PDT

Note- This is a post that disregards the Easter Egg and mainly focuses on all the good that TranZit has done for zombies. Also note that this is opinionated and I do not think that TranZit is a top tier map.

Hey zombies community, I'm here to tell you about all the good that TranZit did, but before that, I want to state my main complaints with the map.

There are no guns in town, jet gun is aids, pack a punch is hard, denizens, power and farm don't have enough in them, no multi part/buildable pickup, teleport system shouldn't be random and the fog is a little too thick. (If these problems were resolved, TranZit would be an S tier map, but for now, I feel it deserves B tier)

Now for the good. TranZit is the most different map from all the maps, mainly because of the freedom in your choices in the map. From spawn, you can choose to go to diner, or you can go to town (Yes, you can get to town, if you are good at traversing through the lava). You can choose when you leave spawn, as you see fit, unlike some maps like origins where you have to leave on snow rounds or have to get moving because of the Panzer. That is something I enjoy about TranZit. Another thing thats cool about TranZit is that it is the only map where you can buy perks before you turn on the power. For example, you use the turbine to buy speed cola and double tap 2 (Another thing TranZit made), pick up the turbine, and when you turn on the power, you get the perks abilities instantly. This adds more choice to TranZit. You can be like, "Am I going to go on the bus and rush to power, or am I gonna stay at diner, save up for galvaknuckles, speed cola or both?" This shows how TranZit has many ways to play. The size of the map does give a feeling of adventure, "I'm going to do this, then that, then that..". People have a different playstyles on the map. Also, people say that the lava is AIDs too. I would like to disagree. The fog is not punishing the player for moving, it is just an extra hazard you have to deal with. It fits with the theme of the map, apocalypes. It also makes the map harder, as if there was no lava, there would be a billion training areas. Town would have one of the best training areas in zombies history cuz of how much space was freed up. I know some people will be opposed to having harder training areas, but then theres really nothing that seperates the boys from the men. TranZit is also the closest thing we have to open world zombies, which is something I'm sure some people can appreciate. People have problems with the bus as well. "Why can't we stop the bus? Why can't we use the bus to our liking?" Well, there are some things to say about that. Firstly, you can stop the bus with EMP grenades. Secondly, thats not how the world works. Buses stop at bus stops for a short time, and then move on. In TranZit, the bus is driven around by a robot. The robot will be programmed to do the same thing as buses in real life. You miss the bus, you gotta walk. Thats why I don't like denizens, because if they didn't exist, getting left behind by the bus would barely be an inconvienience. This is a bit of a controversial opinion, but I believe that a map isn't bad because of the game smacking you around a little. If you can fight the lava and bus problem, then you won't have a problem with TranZit. Just another thing, even though I said I wouldn't talk about easter eggs, but even the easter egg has a choice in it. You can either help Maxis of help Richtofen.

Now I am going to talk about how TranZit made strides and is one of the most innovative map. TranZit made buildables, a buildable wonder weapon, 2 new perks, perma perk system, most BO2 guns (obviously), dual easter eggs, open world maps and a transportation system. I probably missed some innovations, but you get the point. Even if you disagree and think TranZit is garbage, at least you can see TranZit as a Black Ops 4 zombies for modern zombies. TranZit told Treyarch about how to improve these systems. That doesn't mean that TranZit is doodoo, because it is the first map to introduce such things. That's like saying that Nacht Der Untoten is a bad map. It can't be counted as it was the first, and you cannot reasonably complain about TranZit having one part pickups, as it was the first with that feature. Not all things are perfect from the get go. I believe you should point fingers at Die Rise and Buried, since they didn't fix the problem. By the way, the one part pick up system is only an inconvienience, not a game ruining problem. But tangent aside, such problems were fixed, like MOTD having multi part pickup and a good buildable wonder weapon. We see how Treyarch improves later on in newer maps. Anyways, those were just some of my thoughts on TranZit, thanks for reading!

Is Black Ops 3 still worth buying?

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:11 AM PDT

I'm getting a gaming pc soon, and I really want to get back into zombies, especially with easter egg speedruns. Does Black Ops 3 still hold up as well as it did a few years ago?

My Own Idea on how Zombies could progress

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 05:23 AM PDT

A late suggestion in terms of time until the next map release, and one I doubt will have any impact on how the game mode will be developed. But I feel for zombies to become tailored to both casual and hardcore players, a storyline across the entirety of the next game should be scrapped and, instead, micro stories form map to map should be used. An example of this being mob of the dead which, whilst adding to the ultimus story, had its own story in its own regard.

The idea where a map has a start and an end with no knock on effect to other maps avoid game becoming convoluted and confusing. A map like voyage of despair could have been enhanced incredibly by following this. Treyarch's concentration on the storyline distracted them from the gameplay of the map, missing out details that could have been key to the map's success. A dynamic map that changes as you go from round to round, in Voyage of Despair's case being the ship slowly submerging more and more or approaching the iceberg, would make the map so much more exciting and unpredictable forcing the player to constantly adapt and change their strategy. An easter egg in each map could alter the way in which the map develops, with the potential for multiple endings.

An idea I thought of for a map where this would work perfectly is in a Chernobyl like scenario where a nuclear reactor slowly descends into chaos before the reactor explodes. From round to round, a sense of panic is put upon the player more and more, and the blaring of alarms and problems becomes more and more prevalent before eventually a huge explosion cuts off huge part of the map, or at least gives you damage upon entering. Dynamic maps will make maps more and more replay-able and will be even more possible with the new power of the next generation of consoles.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

    Custom WaW Maps Not Loading

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 12:19 PM PDT

I have been trying to play custom WaW zombies because I do not have BO3 on PC. I got everything working, the loading screen shows that the map is fully loaded, and I can hear the audio of the map in the background, I can ever shoot. Yet I can not get the loading screen to close, and get the map to open. This happens whether its a custom loading screen or a normal activision one.

Anyone have this issue and know how to fix it?

    A few positives from BO4

    Posted: 15 Aug 2020 02:58 AM PDT

Hello, just thought I'd put what I think are the positives from BO4 as it gets a lot of criticism (the majority of which is completely justifiable). As a long time zombie slayer (I was there from WaW) I think that not all was a disaster with BO4.

    Anyway, here they are...

    • Special weapons (Hammer, Scepter etc.)

    • Class setups

    • Perk Modifier (not the perk system)

    • Contracts

Maybe I prefer these because I am a solo player (not 1 of my friends play zombies and it drives me crazy)

I think that if they can merge the good bits of BO4 zombies with a new story and a decent set of new characters then we're on for a winner.

Would love to hear your thoughts,

    Happy slaying.
