    Origins is Overrated

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 09:24 AM PDT

I know I'm going to get some flak for this but after playing origins for a while, doing the Easter egg and learning the map inside and out I really think it's an overrated map. Now obviously the map was highly innovative and that is undeniable so I won't be talking about that just strictly gameplay. As a gameplay map it really falls in comparison to some of the more fleshed out bo3 and even bo2 maps. The lack of transportation is highly annoying considering the maps size The staffs are incredibly tedious. The Easter egg takes 2 hours on average (especially on bo3 with the lack of the glitch) and the mud makes running across the GIANT map with practically ZERO transportation incredibly annoying. The tank moves slower than you can run come on now. Literally half your time playing this map is spent running. On top of that the lack of good training spots and the difficulty of getting the staffs makes this map completely casual UNfriendly. None of my casual friends ever want to play origins. It's just kind of a ball of cool features that I feel like could've been executed much better. The lack of transportation really gets me and the set up process is incredibly tedious: more so than Gorod Krovi or Zetsobou both of which are maps that recieve flak for their setup processes. On top of that there are no round based enemies that give you max ammos making things very difficult in the later rounds. Don't get me wrong it has some amazing features but when you really think about the gameplay it drops down from SS tier to about B or maybe A tier. So what are your thoughts? Do you agree? Either way please leave a comment I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I just got to round 20 my first time!

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 04:04 AM PDT

Now this prob isn't that much of an achievement, but I started playing this game fairly recently, and none of my friends play it so I'm here to brag to you guys, I also bought bo3 GotY edition since it was so cheap. I got round 20 on DE, and yes you guessed it, with the storm bow. Tbh the hardest part was getting the bow, I had such a hard time hitting the bon-fires that it took me two days to get it! Anyhow have a good day everyone!!!

PS, I couldn't find a flair that fit so I just used discussion

So after doing DE EE round 2 with Megan, decided I’d do Solo DE EE by round 3 with classics

Hot take: The mystery box mechanic is outdated, and it needs a revamp to combat box weapon clutter

Now you're probably thinking "oh no this guy made a suggestion to change our beloved classic game, crucify him!!!!". But hear me out.

One of the many complaints I have heard about BO4 in regards to weapons, is the overwhelming amount of available guns. On one hand, the game improved immensely from BO3, by adding new DLC weapons to every map for use and grind. On the other hand, the ability to get the specific weapon you want becomes harder and harder with each new addition.

One of the easiest solutions to solve this is simply to change up the wallbuys for DLC maps. This has always been a weakness on Treyarch's part, the unwillingness to change wallbuys from the standard base game weapons. Infinite Warfare did this, and I feel it works out greatly for the mode in general. However, it still doesn't give the players true freedom in being able to get the gun they want, in the map they want to play (because box RNG is still a thing).

So here is my proposal: reintroduce the Waffenbox mechanic from WWII's The Tortured Path map.

    https://callofduty.fandom.com/wiki/Waffenbox

For those unfamiliar: the Waffenbox is basically a mini Mystery Box/wallbuy hybrid, which grants a random gun from a specific type. So there's a pistol box, an SMG box, an AR/sniper box, etc... Each box is also appropriately priced to match the class type. This concept can be brought over to future games with slight adjustments, such as:

    - Consolidating certain classes within one box (AR + sniper, SMG + shotgun, LMG + launchers/specials, pistols)

    - Make every box capable of rolling the map-specific Wonder Weapon/tactical nade (Monkey, Gersh Device, Homunculus, that sort)

This helps to reduce the RNG immensely when grinding guns. No more do you have to spam the box constantly hoping you get the exact gun you want. Camo grinding is also less of a chore, now that there's a better path to getting the one gun you still don't have gold camo on. New guns can be added freely and the amount of RNG would not be as severe as in BO4. The spirit of the Mystery Box is also retained and not completely taken out of Zombies.

Now whether you want this to replace the OG box/wallbuy completely, or to have them co-exist somehow, that's up for debate. Feel free to throw some thoughts in.

There are way too many guns in the Black Ops 4 Mystery Box

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 10:25 AM PDT

Every time I load up a game of Black Ops 4 zombies, it will take me almost 10 rounds of spinning the box just to get the map's wonder weapon if I'm lucky. Granted, most maps have alternative methods of acquiring the wonder weapon, but still! I understand that Treyarch wanted to add DLC weapons to every map post release, but in doing so they made it even harder to get certain weapons. Part of me kind of wishes they had simply added the new weapons to individual maps, like with Black Ops 3. Some of the new weapons introduced in Zetsubou and Gorod Krovi made the mystery boxes on those maps a lot more unique.

Yeti Eye EE, was it ever solved?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 08:15 AM PDT

What's up everyone? Feels like it's been forever since I posted in here.

I just got back to recently playing some IW Zombies again for fun and finally beating Mephistopholes. I know I used to post on here a lot about it back in the day as I hunted it a lot but was that EE ever solved? I never saw anything on youtube about it. I know about the talisman on the ride and some people said that directors cut was the yeti eye ee, but I specifcally remember him saying when they did a twitch stream with beast from beyond that you needed the last soul key to do the yeti eye ee. Its finally do able, so I don't think it was directors cut, and tbh I don't think it was the lobby music.

Just curious. Stoked for the new zombies this fall with Cold War but was just curious if there was ever any new leads or if anyone was still looking or if everyone just agreed that it was lobby music. Did Lee ever say it was solved or anyone? He was usually pretty in touch with the community and updating us with stuff and being interactive.

Who knows. Hope you are all well. Any answers would be appreciated! Feel free to discuss!

Why talk about normal when there is Hardcore and Realistic?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 09:50 AM PDT

Before you start your talk, hear me out.

A lot of people give shit to BO4 for the 200 HP, round 35 Health cap stuff. And I understand it is makes the game easier. So why not go to hardcore? You are three hit all the time. Zombies do not have a health cap. There are Insta kill rounds. Or even go to realistic. You are one hit. You have 4x strong zombies and more challenging rounds. Why not play these difficulties if you hate the features of normal? Honestly, I do not know the answer, but one thing I would definitely set in my mind is if normal and casual difficulties weren't a thing in BO4, people would not be ranting about it. But am I supposed to hear out the rant that there is no jug and the game is way more challenging? Am I supposed to hear that there are no sources of killing the zombies except AATs which can only kill em 1-by-1 during high rounds, blaze phase, traps and specialists (especially in VOD, Classified, Alpha)? Of course. I just genuinely want to ask this: why complain about normal difficulty when there is hardcore and realistic to play? It is confusing me.

What are the best ray guns on Alpha Omega?

    Posted: 02 Sep 2020 11:51 AM PDT

Basically title, aside from the infinite ammo laser one (my baby) I haven't used any of the others. What are some good and fun ones to try out?

Also if anyone has tips for the chimney step for the purple raygun that would be much appreciated.
