Pack-A-Punched Nailgun is the Redecorator, and its just as effective at killing zombies as you'd expect a nailgun to be

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 12:35 AM PDT

This is the reason why zombies hasn’t fulfilled its potential this year.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 12:24 PM PDT

It's actually two things. Quite simple too.

1.) This hypocritical and overreacting fan base. Your crucifying of Black Ops 4 Zombies caused the Cold War wound. It probably chopped development in half, if not more.

However, most of us knew this would have negative effects going in to Cold War. And so it comes out and, shocker, we don't get like any new content pumped out in the same old fashion and you guys throw another fit. You guys bitching will be the end of this game mode.

And the funny thing is, most of the content in Cold War zombies is better than most of its predecessors. The Die Maschine Easter Egg, as simple and easy as it may be, is STILL 10x better than the Easter eggs on Ascension, Der Reise, Kino Der Toten, Transit, I can go on. By the way, all of those maps I listed are praised by the community, maybe not Transit but you guys apparently want that in Chronicles 2 so ??? What's the issue here? We grew up loving zombies maps that didn't even have Easter eggs, but now if a new map doesn't live up to a BO3 Easter egg it's garbage and boring? Hypocrites.

But the blame isn't all on you. Now it's Activision turn.

2.) Activision, why the fuck were you so extreme with butchering zombies development after BO4. While the fan base was harsh and nasty at times, most of their words carried a lot of truth.

The BO4 engine and HUD was literally the main problem. That's on YOU guys, not us. We don't want to play a clunky, awful to look at, and unreasonably complex zombies experience. Why wouldn't you just stick to what worked? But the moment you get backlash, you assume we just hate zombies now and cut down like 75% of the development for the mode? How the fuck does that make sense.

What have people been saying since cold wars launch, Activision? "The gameplays good but everything else is underwhelming" Right? It's almost like when you make the gameplay fun, we love the mode. That's all you had to fix. But nah, you tasked like a handful of devs this time around because last time didn't work out, devs who are now being scrutinized by your decisions, Activision.

These devs are talented people who should have their abilities in their field displayed for players, not limited. All it took was a better engine and gameplay structure. I swear you are a bunch of quitters, Activision. You don't realize the amount of money you could've made with Cold War if you just believed in the mode that has worked for decades! Zombies chronicles was your highest paid DLC for Christ's sake.

    CONCLUSION:

Clearly Activision have a bunch of idiots at the helm who will run from any challenge, so it's time for the fan base to wake up and realize how much our words are hurting the gamemode we love. Don't choose your words carefully for Activision, choose them carefully for zombies. It's the only way to save the mode.

Just beat Outbreak EE #2 without the help of the internet

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 02:16 PM PDT

Thought I'd see if I could figure these EE's out by myself since DM and FBZ were so easy. And I was actually able to beat the second Outbreak EE just now without any help from the internet! I thought I'd be more excited but the EE was pretty basic and simple. Here are my thoughts:

    Pros:

-Straight forward, anyone can do this

-Public match friendly, Outbreak isn't public friendly (lol) but if any EE can be done in a public match, it's this one.

    -Storyline was kind of interesting

    Cons:

    -No challenge whatsoever

-Not really replayable other than public matches with randoms might be fun

-Gonna be a long 3 weeks until Mauer der Toten

Good luck to everyone attempting this egg.

possible crew coming in mauer der toten?!?

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 11:33 AM PDT

so in the 2nd outbreak ee, in the cutscene requiem is either killed or taken. so could this mean we might be getting an actual crew in mauer der toten? or are they just gonna give us a new team and still no crew. probably so.

Zoo should be the model for Outbreak maps.

    Posted: 17 Jun 2021 07:50 AM PDT

So, after spending a good 2 to 3 hours in it, (replayed, also looking for the monkey locations) I think I can safely say Zoo is the best Outbreak map

It's fairly small, but that's good, it's an area with enough spread out locations so it doesn't feel empty. The biggest issue with Outbreak maps, so far, is that they are 100% tailored towards Multiplayer with zero changes to them. So you end up having a lot of very straight surfaces, since you have to have a good line of sight for the engagements between players. That's the issue, Zombies is very CQC, while they do work, it feels like tedious and stalling. There's no reason for a map to be as big as Alpine.

Not only that, but it also felt pretty special, it wasn't the same building copy and pasted 20 times. There were reused assets, of course, but it felt fresh, because they did something new with it.

It also has this creepy fucking eerie aura. The big clock tower chiming in the distance, while you walk through this empty, foggy zoo. My point is, the map is well defined. It's a zoo, that's what we are there for, so there's less focus on random little buildings, and whatever isn't the Zoo, feels like a logical addition.

I know they won't change the base maps, and that they won't replace em either. Which is a bummer that it took them this long to find out what makes an Outbreak map work.

Anyways, I really enjoyed it, and though I love the approach and would want them to keep it when making next maps, hopefully it's the last outbreak map. That thing is getting pretty bloated with 6 maps lol
