EDP445 In Zombies (This took me like 30 mins to make lol)

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 10:58 AM PDT

It's sad when you realise even blackout got a proper cutscenes and story even though the whole thing made no sense at the end of the season but our beloved aether didn't.

Now that the DLC Season is over, can we get EE’s Available in Custom Mutations please?

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 10:24 AM PDT

Obviously the trophies would still be disabled but this would allow for SO MANY different ways to play the Easter Eggs and now that the season is seemingly over for now, it would be a great way to extend the possible lifecycle of this game for future players who wish to enjoy the EE's but maybe don't want to deal with all the stresses of doing it legit.

I hope they add this as I previously made the suggestion of them adding the Ray Gun Mark 2 to all Aether Maps which a lot of people supported (thank you all by the way) and Treyarch eventually did it.

Again, much love to everyone in this community

If you could only play 1 CoD Zombies game for the rest of your life (Including all DLC) which would you chose?

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 06:44 AM PDT

Can we please have some basic features added to bo4 that would greatly enhance the overall quality of the game

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 07:04 AM PDT

    - The option the choose characters from the lobby menu (cleaner and more professional than spam restarting the lobby until you get the character you prefer)

    - The option to change subtitles size

    - When pack a punching the option to use either the pack camo or reactive/diamond/dark matter camos, etc.

    - The option to turn the hud off (some gauntlet rounds already have this feature)

    - The option to which back to starting equipment (similar to when you run out of snowballs on tag)

    - Weapon inspection on all weapons, (this is already in multiplayer and blackout)

There are many more, however the ones listed I believe require little development time to add but will greatly improve the game.

Many of these should of been there from launch. Please if any devs see this, please consider adding them.

Zombies Concept: Map-Specific Challenge and Reward Progress.

i got to the secret island on solo !

Give me a challenge that can be possible without sight

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 12:33 PM PDT

I haven't played zombies seriously for about two months, now not only am I blind but my right hand is starting to go numb from nerve damage. Meaning it is going to be much more difficult aiming and shooting then it previously would have been.

But I'm open to challenges if anybody has any ideas. My initial one was hardcore round 30 on classified or something like that.

Before the game is abandoned: changes we need

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 12:30 AM PDT

I know Black Ops 5 is the highest priority right now for Treyarch but before the entire team moves on to that development process I wanted to make a thread of some certain bug fixes and QOL features we would like before the updates for zombies stop coming. Figured it'd be nice to have it all in one place.

A QOL feature I would love to be in all maps is if you have 15,000+ points, so enough to fully pack a punch, there should be a button combo you can hit to fully PaP your gun in one go instead of having to do it 5 separate times.

Comment any contributions you have and hopefully if it gets big enough we can compile all of the quality ones into a sticky on the reddit and send the thread to Treyarch. Obviously not a guarantee it'll get fixed but if everyone can just take a second to comment one bad bug that's occurred to them or a QOL feature that everyone would like, we could get some good ideas!

BOTD is an insanely cinematic experience

    Posted: 13 Oct 2019 04:17 PM PDT

Now that BO4 zombies is over, I think it's safe to say that Blood of the Dead is the most cinematic experience in BO4 zombies with the most drama, the most struggle, the most compelling characters, the best dialogue (possibly in Zombies history), and last but not least, some of the best visual experiences.

Now, I get it, there's a lot of problems with this map including the flow and spacing of gathering parts and setting up to prepare for higher rounds. There's a whole lot of empty space in this map and a fair portion of it feels 'redundant,' in contrast to how well map space was used in the original MOTD version. If you're playing solo and preparing to do the EE you have to prepare yourself for at least half a dozen runs across the entire map, just to feed the dogs, activate power, acquire skulls for Blundergat, acquire and upgrade the spoon, etc., and it gets very tedious. But that said, there's a lot to love about this map and appreciate how well Treyarch got certain parts of it right.

    The catwalk

The catwalk gets a lot of grief for being a clusterfuck but I really enjoy how it's used as the cinematic introduction to this game. Basically, as soon as you activate the catwalk door you're incentivized to do three things: 1) use teamwork 2) have your special weapon handy 3) keep running forward and don't look back (with zombies spawning behind you as you run). It's basically the 'warm up' for higher rounds and it's dangerous enough to get the adrenaline pounding. Additionally, it's the cinematic introduction to the special weapons in Black Ops 4. Special weapons in themselves get a bad rap for being overpowered and being available so early in the game, but this is Treyarch's 'answer' to that: special weapons are overpowered but you just might need them to get across this catwalk, especially if you're playing alone. And using them to blast your way through a narrow corridor filled with the undead is a very powerful experience that adds a bright spot to an otherwise dreary BOTD set up.

    Characters and dialogue

This is my personal favorite element of BOTD—how compelling the characters are and the quality of their dialogue. Treyarch is always hit or miss with this. In BO3's opening map, Shadows of Evil, the dialogue is downright awful and the characters couldn't be more flat: a cop character who yells at zombies "Judge ain't gonna go easy on ya!" and "Back up or I'm taking you in." A stripper who yells at the zombies "Don't touch—that's one of the rules!" BO3 is just unforgivably bad with some of this, not just in terms of the dialogue by also with consumables like the perk sodas, which you swallow with a disgusting 'swallowing' sound, or you just chew gobblegum and your character says something lame with their mouth full like, "Wow, that made me feel... different." Well folks, as bad as Treyarch has shown they can be with some of this, I'm happy to say that they got it all right in Blood of the Dead and it 110% exceeded expectations. Every consumable is tied with some masterpiece of a dialogue interaction. When Takeo drinks a perk soda and wheezes with a dried-out throat, "*Cough*... Let us pray the effect is worth the chalky-mouth feel," you know you're finally getting something different and creative. A lot of the elixirs trigger a psychedelic reaction from the character that allows us to see a more whimsical side of them while staying true to their basic nature. Takeo will sometimes drink an elixir and say, "The body is a temple!... and mine is filled with pretty colors." These kind of dialogue quotes help us answer a question we never thought to ask: what would our favorite zombies characters say if they dropped tabs?

In general, BOTD has the best dialogue I've seen from zombies characters, especially Takeo and Richtofen. The quirkiness of individual personalities blends seamlessly with the sober recognition of "what lies ahead." Playing this game from early rounds to high-ish rounds in the 30's or 40's rewards you with new dialogue from the characters while zombie-killing, gradually increasing in intensity. Just last night I was using the Blaze Phase perk to move through the hallways and I 'blazed' through maybe thirty zombies in one sweep and my Takeo character shouted "We have slaughtered legions before you!" It was a new piece of dialogue that I'd never heard before, probably because I had never gotten so many kills in such a short time span on previous games. But all this is to say that the dialogue is incredibly immersive and cinematic, corresponding to events in the game without getting old or stale on repeated play-throughs. I'm also just incredibly impressed with the richness of motivations behind these characters, who understand that they're trapped in purgatory but are going to go down fighting anyways. Takeo consistently displays concern for the "trapped spirits on the island," concerned with both his and their honor, as well as the karmic retribution for his actions that he knows he must face in Alcatraz. He will occasionally utter philosophical musings like when he quotes the Tao Te Ching, saying, "Here, where cause and effect are the same." Meanwhile Richtofen is just as compelling, displaying madness and fury as he attempts to slaughter the undead and rewrite the pages of his own fate, entering pure ecstatic mania as he goes about it. I'm really just in love with these characters and how well they're brought to life on this map.

    Visuals

I for one was very happy with the visuals on this map, and think they pretty much captured the atmosphere perfectly. Probably the only BO4 map that holds a candle to this one visually is Tag der Toten. Especially in the areas with open space, the setting of the island 'looms' over you, with all the hellish expanse of rocks and buildings and lava forming a very imposing atmosphere. The characters comment very nicely on certain elements, like the array of bodies in the showers, or the evil they suspect lurking inside the Warden's home, or even the tranquility of the ocean when they go down by the docks. All this helps bring the setting to life; there's also the experience of a music soundtrack playing when you enter certain locations, e.g., the prison building after escaping through the recreation yard, or going downstairs in the citadel tunnels. Entering these locations triggers a unique atmospheric soundtrack that makes playing through this map feel like a cinematic experience.

So all in all, I'm very happy with this map and think Treyarch did it justice. I would probably rank it in my top 3 maps on BO4 with the caveat that it's much better to play it as a solo experience than as a regular 4-person zombies party clusterfuck. Settling in to play this solo means embracing the atmosphere of isolation and futility, appreciating the characters, and mostly just letting the experience take you along for the ride. The atmosphere continues to build in a rewarding way as you progress through the waves and by wave 25 or so you're seeing the characters fend of the undead with maximum badassery. Blaze Phase is an underrated perk on this map and is very satisfying to use. If you haven't played BOTD solo in a while, give it a try!

BO4 Zombies Bots not teleporting to you in Classified? (Also improving on easter egg steps)

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 11:37 AM PDT

I posted this already but during the night, I'm just reposting so more people can see and hopefully make it aware. Is there any way to make Treyarch aware of this bug??? I haven't complained about the game tbh cause it's still fun, but I have a huge problem with bots atm.

I'm honestly frustrated with treyarch if so because I genuinely prefer playing offline with bots. In Classified, you used to teleport to pack a punch or go to w.e floor you wanted to go and the bots would teleport alongside you. I play solo most of the time, so having bots around me is actually fun. But now apperently that doesn't happen anymore...is this a bug or did they actually decide to remove that?

All I want is to have a solo experience where I can have bots alongside to help with the immersion...and all I can say is that while the game has bigger obvious issues, at least they should've left offline bots alone. I feel they should also make it so you can interact with certain Easter eggs without the bots so you may be able to do easter eggs fully alongside bots.

    Zombies Shower Thoughts 3

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 11:30 AM PDT

Bruh, zombies ammo is so freaking weird.

The Raygun uses D batteries for ammo

We buy upgraded ammo for our guns after pap, so does that mean we pap'd the ammo, or the gun?

One change they never should have made

    Posted: 14 Oct 2019 07:41 AM PDT

Changing the noises of the zombies. For those who don't remember, between Revelations and Chronicles they "updated" the sounds the zombies make. The groans, the screams, even the way it sounds when you knife them. I have thought from day 1 that this was a really bad idea and I think if the next zombies game wants to get people excited they should bring the old sounds back. There was nothing wrong with it and it just added to the pile of new and useless features in bo4 that made the game less iconic. They've changed too much from the original formula
