Things That I Think Would Improve/Would Like To See In CoD 2020

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:04 AM PDT

[Also, I haven't played BO4 zombies since launch, so apologies if some of these have already been added/fixed]

-Bring every perk back for every map, along with some BO4 perks. This will encourage more diverse and interesting perk loudout options per game.

-Replace the 4 perk limit with a 5 or 6 perk limit, or introduce a new concept... *Exponential perk prices after buying 4. This will eliminate the perk limit, but exceeding 4 perks will cost the player more points with each acquired perk. This will leave players with their usual habit of choosing their main 4 perks, but allow them to add on to their loudouts. This could also lead to more diverse selections for the main 4 selected (for example, choosing to buy Quick Revive, Jug, PHD, and Vultures Aid, then buying Double Tap at a higher price at a later round when the damage is more needed and points are expendable).

-Bring back buildables (Head Chopper, Tramplesteam, Auto Turret, etc.) to expand the sandbox and ways to play. Remove the need for a turbine, though. Make the Zombie Shield have it's own slot so you can have a shield and buildable at the same time.

-Make explosives more viable. It should feel good to get a launcher out of the box. (This'll also be helped by PhD).

-Make the Mystery Box more diverse and exciting. In BO3, I almost never use the Box unless I'm trying to get Wonder Weapons, and that's because almost all of the guns are viable and/or on the wall.

-Have more unique Pack-a-Punch abilities per gun (think CoD WWII with the crazy explosive orb-shooting Blunderbuss, he Ribeyrolles' explosive shots, or the Lewis dropping a zombie slowing dome on reload, or even think BO1, with the Grenade Launcher and Masterkey attachment for the M16 and Commando.)

-Tweak the Zombies' swing speed. I think triple swipes are pretty annoying, and zombie swipes that are literally instant are even worse. You can easily see examples of the instant swipes when knifing. I suppose what I'm proposing is the Zombies' swipe hurtbox to be more connected to the hands and less of an AOE, which would add a tiny bit more delay during a swing.

    -Bring back Custom Mutations

-Bring back Gobblegums, increase the amount of Classics, and remove some Megas. A lot of Megas were trash and super situational, but would make for good Classics (Unbearable comes to mind immediately). Some Classics, like Firing On All Cylinders, dont need to be in the game, because honestly, who even used it?

-Smaller-scale custom map making availability in the base game. Nothing huge, maybe having preset buildings, obstacles, emvironment items, and zombie spawn points (think Halo 3's Forge mode or Fortnite's Creative mode).

-Launching with a complicated map and a more simple map (similar to BO3 with Shadows and The Giant)

-Having maps be more focused on smooth, fun gameplay rather than story and main Easter Eggs. I personally found BO3's maps to be unenjoyable with too many quests. I may be a veteran zombies player, but that doesn't mean I want to do 1/3 of the Easter Egg every game just to turn on power and Pack-a-Punch.

-Less tight corridors and debris everywhere. I know it's basic map design for the mode that's made to cause problems and get you cornered, but it's somewhat annoying once you notice the formula on literally every map.

-Easter Eggs with steps that make sense. I'm not even an EE hunter; the only Eggs I've done are Origins, Ascension, The Final Reich, and Solo Moon. However, even I can see that EE's are a bit ridiculous sometimes and have steps that only exist to be hard.

-A return to the dark, spooky, gritty zombies story and experience. Zombies turned into a very Sci-fi action story and less of a sci-fi horror one. It wasn't exactly a bad thing, but a return to the old school darkness would be nice to see.

-More clear and straight forward story. I'd be lying if I said I completely understand the Aether storyline, even after all these years. Hopefully CoD 2020 brings a story that flows much better.

Let me know what you guys think. I know some people may not agree with some of these, and some are farfetched, but they're just things I think would make Zombies more enjoyable.

Treyarch Zombies "Theory": How much is a Zombies Point worth?

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 05:35 PM PDT

This took me about a month to do this, and was a lot of math, so, let's talk about this. How much is the Point worth in the Treyarch Zombies timeline, and while Infinite Warfare used actual dollars as an amount and WW2 did Volts, we're talking classic Aether and Chaos timeline, how much is the point worth?

    Weapons

Firstly, we need to talk about sample size, I chose 11 guns and other items from WaW, BO1 and BO2 (both BO3 and BO4 have futuristic guns and as such have no real world variant to base this on.)

The Weapons I chose to use in this experiment are as follows: *Remington 870 *Heckler & Koch MP5 *AK74u *M1927 Thompson Machine Gun *MP40 *M14 *Semtex Grenade *Arisaka *M1987 Trench Gun *Double Barrel Shotgun (I used the Winchester Model 21 as the use for this weapon since WW2 referred to their very similar Double Barrel as the Model 21)

    Costs

I took the price of these guns throughout the Treyarch games (for guns with more than one price I used an average.) and came to a total of 9650 points between the 11 weapons, divide 9650 over 11 and the average amount of points ends up being about 877.

Looking into the different guns through multiple websites, the total real life price of these 11 guns ended up being $23,190 USD, the average of which is about $2108 USD.

Using this data you can then form an exchange rate by dividing 23190/9650 which comes out to 2.4031088083 or about 2.4 and then by dividing 9650/23190 you get .4161276412 or about .42.

So, the exchange rate I calculated is as follows: 1 point is about equal to 42 cents and 1 dollar is equal to about 2.4 points. This means that 10 points (the standard currency) is about 4.2 dollars or 4 dollars and 20 cents.

Ending I want to thank anyone that read all the way through this, and even more so to anyone who wishes to correct my math, prices for weapons vary from place to place, and since I live in Arizona, the prices may vary, this was just a fun little thought experiment that took way too long for it's own good. Thanks again and tell me your thoughts.

New to BO4 - Where to start?

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:34 AM PDT

I just bought the game with DLCs a few days ago.
I've played a public match on each map just once so far and I have no idea what's going on.

Recommend a map to learn first?
8 maps with several buildables each with multiple spawn locations,, that's like a hundred places to remember :/

    Anything else I should know?
Like in BO3 the best prestige reward was Alchemical for example.

    - - - - - -

And how do you play Rush?
Where's the option for it or in which of the 77 menus should I look for it?

    Idea for new zombies crew

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:21 AM PDT

Not that we have any details whatsoever about the new game, but how cool would it be to have a soft reboot and feature some Aether characters as part of a map's crew?

My idea is a map with the feel of Der Reise, with Maxis, an older Samantha (late teens), Richtofen and another German scientist character being the crew for the map. A reboot of the story going back to the nazi science roots along with playing as some previously extraneous characters would be really fun. Even just the dynamic between Maxis and Samantha being a father/daughter team fighting zombies would be really cool, Richtofen is just a classic, and a new character would be a unique spin on the aether story.

Does anyone else feel like they will get a specific gun from the box on specific maps nearly every time you play that map?

For me it's the drakon in revelations and the mkII on ascension (bo3)

Treyarch oh god please I just have one request for Cold War's zombies story

    Posted: 01 Aug 2020 11:02 AM PDT

You can reboot Aether. You can continue Chaos. You can do whatever but PLEASE for the love of God do another kind of twist besides "character you were allied with betrays you at the end". Literally EVERY ARC has ended with this twist.

    - Richtofen betrays you at the end of Moon by revealing he had no intention of saving the world, but was instead working towards completely controlling the Aether.

    - Maxis betrays you at the end of Buried in his ending when he reveals that in order to reach Samantha in Agartha, he'd need to destroy your reality and kill you all.

    - The Shadowman betrays the Shadows crew by revealing himself to be the herald of the Apothicon horde after convincing the unwitting sinners to aid in opening the gateway to the Dark Aether.

    - Monty doesn't outright betray you after Revelations since his actions are in service of his already established goal of maintaining a perfect Agartha, but he does force you into an infinite timeloop which sucks.

    - Nikolai betrays everyone at the end of Tag Der Toten, although his reasons for doing so are debatably the most understandable and justifiable. It is a betrayal nonetheless.

    - The Oracle betrays you at the end of Ancient Evil, turning out to be a Gorgon and usurping the Order of the Nine's leadership or whatever after getting you to free her.

There are smaller examples as well. Sal Deluca's outfit betraying the Weasel, the Richtofen on Richtofen action in Blood, Godfrey in DoTN. And even OUTSIDE of main Treyarch zombies, this cliche persists.

    - Oz from Exo Zombies turns out to be patient zero of the outbreak, and in the final map Descent basically turns into Lex Luthor and goes full supervillain. Did give us hammy Jon Malkovich though so Sledgehammer is forgiven.

    - Samantha Cross in Extinction is definitely antagonistic near the end but her betrayal is more ambiguous, as its unclear if she could really do anything to stop the Cryptids, or could help but betrayed humanity by choosing not to.

I swear to heck, if they do this cliche ONE MORE TIME, I'll... probably do nothing, to be honest, but I'd just prefer if they didn't.
